History
The company's history can be traced back to 1988 when it began as One Foot On the Mountain Press. Their early emphasis was on poetry collections and chapbooks. As they began to expand a decision was made to change their name to Guyasuta Publishing. The name was chosen to honor Guyasuta (c.1725-c.1794) who was an important leader of the Seneca people who played a key role of diplomacy of that era. A partnership was formed between Guyasuta Publishing and a design company and together they formed Tiffany and Shore Publishing. The partner dissolved and the company became SterlingHouse Publisher, Inc.
In 1997 SterlingHouse published their first works of fiction with the release of seven titles. SterlingHouse has attended the Frankfurt Book Fair and their titles are represented at the London Book Fair and the Canadian Book Convention.
